artist statement -
It is rare to meet and work along side a fellow artist that not only challenges the norm and flow of society, but also asks for your own consciousness to expand along side them. In Dino Puljic, I found such a collaborator. Serbian born, and Paris based, we found the commonality of immigrant ties (my own through my familial roots that began in Mexico and grew to the United States.) In Paris we found ourselves and each other, and were able to come together to question the relevancy of old world thought and technology while asking ourselves where we and society fit within this ever changing concept. Through his creative direction and otherworldly designs, we formed a story that melds where technology currently stands and where it will go. He gave me the full freedom to illustrate the making of this project, which allowed me to incorporate the total inverse of the concept. I chose VHS as the medium to serve as a stark contrast that mirrored time as well as our theme. Overall, my goal was to capture the humanity that came together that day, all in the name of art. 


artist bio -
Ashley Rose Ramirez is an independent director, photographer, and creative writer based in the Los Angeles area. She is best known for her work in fashion filmmaking and visual storytelling. Her debut film won Best Emerging Director at the Los Angeles Fashion Film Festival and earned nominations at festivals in London, Berlin, and the UK. She formally trained in creative writing at an arts high school, writing screenplays, plays, and novels from a young age. Her work is deeply influenced by a desire to live boldly and create authentic visual narratives.
