  • about NYCE

    @nycollageensemble

    New York Collage Ensemble (NYCE) was established to create a supportive community of collage artists who can provide connection, collaboration, and inspiration for one another. With this mission in mind, NYCE provides a platform for artists of diverse backgrounds who work in a variety of styles and mediums, including mixed media, textiles, analog, and digital collage.

    While the pandemic caused in-person meetings to come to a halt for two years, NYCE quickly adapted by moving their gatherings online via Zoom, which opened new opportunities for a wider community of collage enthusiasts from all over the world to participate. Currently, NYCE holds regular in-person and online meetups and has even introduced "NYCE Talks," featuring guest speakers discussing various topics related to collage.

    The idea for NYCE originated during a coffee chat between Isabelle Milkoff and Susan Lerner, who sought to create a space where like-minded artists could come together. Since its inception, NYCE has grown to six founding members; Susan Lerner, Isabelle Milkoff, Orit Tenzer, Stacey Burgay, Meghan Larimer, and Amy Putman.

    The six founding members of the NYCE have exhibited their work as a collective at the Judy Black Park in Washington, CT, at Sarabeth’s Upper West Side in Manhattan and at the Yellow Studio Gallery in Connecticut. They have also exhibited in international group shows including: The Scandinavian Collage Museum in Berkak, Norway, the Parc Floral au Bois de Vincennes in Paris, and at the Parc André Citroën in Paris. This spring they look forward to their annual exhibition at the Galerie Etienne de Causans in Paris, France.
